Welcome to Voice This Text. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Voice This Text service ("Service"), operated by vanrossum.dev ("we", "our", or "us"), a company registered in The Netherlands.

By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

Voice This Text is a text-to-speech service that allows you to convert written text into audio files using various AI-powered voices. The Service includes:

• Web-based text-to-speech generation
• API access for programmatic audio generation
• Voice library with multiple languages and voices
• Custom voice cloning (where available)
• Audio file storage and management

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Promptly update any changes to your information
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service.

4.1 Subscription Plans

The Service is offered through various subscription plans with different features and usage limits. Plan details and pricing are displayed on our website and may be updated from time to time.

4.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed by our Merchant of Record partner. The Merchant of Record handles payment processing, invoicing, VAT/tax collection, and related compliance obligations as the seller of record. By making a purchase, you also agree to the applicable terms presented at checkout.

4.3 Billing Cycle

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your chosen plan. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

4.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify our pricing. Any price changes will be communicated to you at least 30 days before taking effect and will apply from your next billing cycle.

5.1 Payment Processing

Payments are processed by our Merchant of Record partner, who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. Refund requests are handled in accordance with the applicable refund policy for your purchase.

5.2 Refund Requests

Refunds may be provided on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the applicable refund policy. To request a refund, please use the support method included in your purchase confirmation or contact us at [email protected] and we will assist you with your request.

5.3 Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer, this refund policy does not affect your statutory rights in relation to products which are not as described, faulty, or not fit for purpose.

5.4 Subscriptions

Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. If you wish to cancel your subscription, please do so at least 48 hours before the end of the current billing period. There are no refunds on unused subscription periods.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Impersonate any person or entity without their consent
• Create deepfakes or misleading audio content intended to deceive
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
• Use automated means to access the Service beyond the API limits of your plan

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these acceptable use guidelines.

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and underlying technology, is owned by vanrossum.dev and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.

7.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of any text content you submit to the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the text-to-speech service.

7.3 Generated Audio

Audio files generated through the Service may be used by you for personal or commercial purposes, subject to the terms of your subscription plan. However, you may not claim ownership of the underlying voice technology or AI models.

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law:

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim

These limitations do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under Dutch and EU law.

9.1 Cancellation by You

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access until then.

9.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees, or engage in fraudulent activity. In case of termination for breach, no refund will be provided.

9.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. We may delete your account data after a reasonable period, subject to any legal retention requirements.

These Terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of The Netherlands.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also be entitled to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
